Privacy
You can use all of AERA without an account, and without us holding anything about you. An account is optional, and it is the only thing that changes this.
If you create an account, we hold your email address, whatever display name and picture you choose, and the people and venues you follow. To have it deleted, write to us, and we close the account: the name, the picture and the public profile go with it. If you use “near me”, your coordinates are sent with that one request and are never written down.
If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address, your name and your picture, and the name and picture become your starting profile. We ask Google for nothing else, we never read anything else in your account, and we pass none of it on.
What stays after that is the email address on the closed record, the follows nobody can see any more, and the sign-in itself at Supabase until you ask for that too.
We store person names as they appear on a venue’s public schedule, and nothing else about them: no photos, no bios, no contact details.
Data and backups are hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). The site and the API run on Vercel, and page views go to PostHog in the EU.
